Research analyst
Also called: SEBI registered research analyst
A person or firm registered with SEBI to publish research reports and recommendations on securities.
Research analysts prepare and publish research, including buy, sell or hold recommendations on listed securities. In India this activity requires SEBI registration, and analysts must follow rules on disclosing conflicts of interest.
A stock tip sent in a chat group by an unregistered person, especially for a fee, falls outside this regulated system.
