The promise
MarketShots exists to make stock market education available to everyone. That only works if it is free, so we make these commitments.
- Everything educational is free. Every lesson, every module test, the glossary, search and progress tracking.
- No paywalls and no premium tier. There will never be "advanced lessons for members" or locked modules.
- No sign-up required. You can read, practise and track your progress without giving us your name, email or phone number.
- No paid certificates. Test results are a learning aid, not a credential we sell.
- No stock tips. We do not sell or give buy and sell recommendations, now or later.
- No broker referral links or commissions. We do not earn money when you open an account or trade anywhere, so we have no reason to push you towards trading.
- No advertising for financial products inside lessons. Lessons are written to teach, not to sell.
Why this matters
Much of the financial content people see is paid for, directly or indirectly, by those who profit when they trade more, borrow more or buy a particular product. That does not make all of it wrong, but it creates a pull towards excitement and activity. A source that earns nothing from your decisions can afford to tell you that most short-term traders lose money, that guarantees are a red flag, and that the honest answer is often "it depends".
If anything ever changes
If we ever need to cover hosting or other running costs, we will do it in a way that leaves every educational resource free and does not create a conflict of interest, such as voluntary support, and we will say so openly on this page. Lessons will never be locked.
