Contract note
Also called: trade confirmation
The document your broker sends after a day of trading, listing each trade's price and quantity and every charge and tax on it.
A contract note is the legal record of your trades with the broker. It shows the time and price of each trade, the brokerage, securities transaction tax, exchange and regulatory charges, stamp duty and GST.
Checking contract notes is the most reliable way to know what trading actually costs you, and to spot trades you did not place.
Example
A contract note for one delivery purchase might list the trade value, STT, stamp duty, exchange charges, brokerage and GST on separate lines.
