Arbitration
Also called: arbitration award, conciliation
A way of settling a dispute in which an independent arbitrator hears both sides and makes a binding decision, called an award.
In India's securities market, money disputes between investors and registered intermediaries or listed companies can go through a dispute resolution system: conciliation first, where a neutral person helps both sides settle, then arbitration if that fails. An award is binding, with limited grounds for challenge.
