Grievance redress
Also called: investor complaint, investor grievance, SEBI complaint
The route for an investor's complaint against a regulated firm: first to the firm itself, then, if unresolved, to SEBI's complaint system.
Investors with a grievance against a listed company, broker, depository participant or other regulated entity should first take it to that entity's grievance officer. If it is not resolved, they can lodge a complaint with SEBI through its online complaint system and track its progress.
This route does not cover unregistered fraudsters, whom SEBI does not regulate. Online financial fraud by unregistered people should be reported to the national cybercrime helpline or reporting portal, and to your bank, as quickly as possible.
