Annual report
Also called: annual reports
A company's yearly report to shareholders, containing its audited financial statements, notes, auditor's reports and management's commentary.
For a listed Indian company, the annual report includes audited standalone and consolidated statements, the directors' report, management discussion and analysis and a corporate governance report, among other disclosures. It is filed with the stock exchanges and published on the company's website.
The audited statements and notes are the evidence; the narrative sections are management's own account.
Example
Searching an annual report for "contingent" leads to the note on lawsuits, disputed taxes and guarantees.
