Swing high and swing low
Also called: swing high, swing low, swing points
A swing high is a peak with lower highs on either side; a swing low is a trough with higher lows on either side.
Swings are the turning points used to define trends, support, resistance and trendlines. Defining them by a rule, such as a minimum percentage move, makes chart analysis consistent and testable.
