Exceptional items
Also called: one-off items, extraordinary items, non-recurring items
Unusual gains or charges, such as asset sales, restructuring costs or write-downs, that are unlikely to repeat every year.
Removing exceptional items and large other income shows the recurring profit of the core business. A company that reports large "one-off" charges every year has costs that are not really one-off.
