Bid price
Also called: bid, best bid
The highest price any buyer is currently offering for a share; roughly what you would get if you sold immediately.
The bid is the top of the buy side of the order book. A seller who wants to sell straight away will usually trade at or near the best bid.
The bid is always lower than the ask. The gap between them is the bid-ask spread.
