Ask price
Also called: ask, offer price, best ask
The lowest price any seller is currently accepting for a share; roughly what you would pay if you bought immediately.
The ask (or offer) is the top of the sell side of the order book. A buyer who wants to buy straight away will usually trade at or near the best ask.
The ask is always higher than the bid; otherwise the two orders would simply trade with each other.
