Module test: How buying and selling works
Check what you have learned in How buying and selling works. The questions cover these goals:
- Compare investing and trading in time horizon, method, costs and risk.
- Choose between a market order and a limit order and predict how each will be executed.
- Explain how stop-loss orders are triggered and why they cannot guarantee an exit price.
- Read a bid and an ask, calculate the spread, and explain why liquidity matters.
- Add up the charges on a trade and describe how gains on listed shares are taxed.
- Calculate market capitalisation and explain what it does and does not say about a company.
- Read the main numbers on a stock quote and explain what they do and do not show.
How this test works
- 10 questions, picked at random from a bank of 54. Each attempt mixes easy, medium and harder questions across the module's learning goals.
- One question at a time. You can go back, change answers, and jump to any question before you submit.
- No time limit. Your answers are saved in this browser as you go, so a refresh will not lose them.
- You pass with 80% or more. Your best attempt earns XP: 5 for each right answer and 50 more for a pass. Every answer is explained afterwards, and you can retake with fresh questions.
