Pre-sales
Also called: bookings, sales bookings, collections
For a property developer, the value of homes or offices sold during a period, often long before the revenue is recognised.
Many developers recognise revenue only on completion and handover, so reported revenue lags actual selling. Pre-sales, collections from customers, unsold inventory and the land bank are better guides to a developer's progress.
